Video diversity

From FPVWiki
Jump to: navigation, search

Video diversity means having multiple video receivers, typically with different kinds of antennas or pointed in other directions, and automatically choosing the stronger signal.

You can for example have a short-range omni-directional antenna and a high-gain directional antenna. The omni-directional antenna will fill in blind spots around the other antenna while you are flying close-by.

you can either:

  • DIY or buy a diversity controller that you wire your two receivers to
  • Get a dual video receiver with built in diversity. Sometimes integrated to fpv monitors.
